gotta love college football...

“A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall.” -Vince Lombardi

Well said, mister Lombardi. I don't think there is anything more quintessential to a fall semester at college than football season. Classes will start up for yet another semester, and students will think of more excuses to sleep through their 7:40 labs. But when Saturday rolls around, nothing can hold you back from putting on your school colors and taunting any passersby that dare bear resemblance to the opposing team. It definitely helps that this year, the Sun Devils actually have a chance at success, contrary to my freshman year at ASU when our record was... well... not favorable, to say the least. But hey, it's my senior year, gotta go out with a bang, right?

With a win this weekend against UNLV (which, no offense Rebels, but shouldn't be hard...), Rudy Carpenter would tie Jake Plummer for third on the list of all-time career wins in Sun Devil history. Not to mention we're starting off the season strong, getting ready for an (fingers crossed) upset against Georgia in less than two weeks.

I can't even explain how great football season is this year. Having a team that has a chance at a Rose Bowl berth (granted all falls into place), having an NFL Fantasy team that is dominating thus far (yes, only week one, but I can still be proud of my very first fantasy matchup!), what more could I ask for? I'm loving it, and I hope you are too, because there is nothing in the world quite like football season.

and so it begins...

In my pursuit of a journalistic career, the one piece of advice that has been drilled into my head is "write, write, write!" A key component of any form of journalism, writing is a skill that needs to be honed and practiced at every opportunity--and so, my blog is born.

I hope this page can be more than just me rambling about myself (yes, an interesting subject I know), but that it can contribute some valuable content to the the world wide web. Once I really get this up and running, I hope to be able to share both text and video projects that I have put together. I'd love to hear any feedback as well, so please, don't be shy.

For now, I'll leave it short and sweet. But don't worry, there's much more to come...
